Barkham Road

This proposal focusses on ensuring the continuous provision of a pedestrian footway on both sides of the carriageway, through reducing the carriageway width where necessary. Further pedestrian improvements include kerb build outs and raised tables at side road entrances with dropped kerbs and tactile paving, and improved crossing facilities with sufficient green man time. 

Reducing the speed limit to 20mph and 30mph at various stages along Barkham Road with physical interventions, alongside improvements to make junctions more cycle friendly, will make cycling on the carriageway more attractive. Additionally, this proposal presents to alternative routes along Magnolia Way / Evergreen Way and along Meadow Road.
